Independent Committee to address national team issues.

Cricket Kenya will be setting up a 3 to 5 bench Independent Committee to look into issues surrounding the standoff between the National Cricket Team Players and the Technical bench.

Serious allegations have been raised on both sides, leading to interference with the national team performance which has prompted for the setting up of the Independent Committee, that will have its members drawn from outside the Cricket Kenya Board.

“As a Board we realize that the welfare of the players and the technical bench is paramount and we must know where the problems are so that any issues that might be there can be amicably resolved for the good of the game and Country”.

Meanwhile, both the players and the technical bench have welcomed the steps that have been taken by Cricket Kenya, with the Technical Bench that is headed by Steve Tikolo voluntarily stepping aside after the players made themselves readily available for selection for the Namibia tour and with both sides agreeing that the game was bigger than anyone of them.

Cricket Kenya in the meantime will set up a temporary technical bench that will handle the team

The Independent Committee once appointed will start its work on 3rd of November 2015, when the team is back from Namibia and will have a two-week timeline to present their findings and recommendations to Cricket Kenya.
