Uganda make it four wins from four, Kenya still in the hunt.

Zephania Arinaitwe smashed a brilliant 139 as Uganda posted 330 for a second time on day 4 of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018, Africa Qualifier in Nairobi. Kenya defeated Ghana by 107 runs to remain on the heels of Uganda with 2 rounds remaining.

At Gymkhana Uganda won the toss and chose to bat first against Botswana. It proved to be a wise decision as opener Arinaitwe plundered 139 (127 balls) that included17 boundaries. Kenneth Waiswa and Fred Achelam also got in on the act scoring 64 and 47 respectively.

In reply Botswana only manage to score 83 giving Uganda victory by a massive 247 runs. The boys from Botswana will treat thisas a learning experience and will look to come back stronger in 2 years.

At Jaffrey Sports Club, Kenya won the toss and chose to bat first against Ghana. They got off to a good start reaching 140/4 inside 33 overs. They scored a further 81 runs of the next 17 overs to finish on a defendable 221 of their allotted 50 overs. Thomas Ochieng top scored for the hosts with 42 of 49 deliveries. David Pereira was the pick of the Ghanaian attack as he ended with figures of 2/24 of 9 overs that included 1 maiden.

The chase did not go according to plan as Ghana were reduced to 40/7 after 19 overs. Yaksh Patel the chief destroyer picking up 3 of those 7 wickets. Theodore Joseph and Joseph Aboagye put on 72 for the 8th wicket which was the only contributions of substance  as Ghana folded for 114 in 36 overs. Yaksh Patel ending with miserly figures of 3/17 of 10 overs that included 4 maidens.
