Nairobi trials a success despite testing weather

The Cricket Kenya Nairobi under-19 trial was successfully held at Simba Union Club, Nairobi on 6th May, 2017 despite wet weather in Kenya’s capital. 82 talented juniors participated in day one of the two-day trial process that concludes tomorrow at the same venue.

All players should be proud to be nominated by their schools and/or clubs to compete for a position in the trials. The attendance of all players and parents, as well as the way in which all cricketers went about their session should be commended. The selection process will be difficult, with plenty of young cricketers displaying their skills.

From 82 players that trialed in Nairobi, Cricket Kenya selectors will chose the best of the lot, addition to those that will have their trials in Mombasa region next weekend, to be included in a 30-man squad that will be trimmed down to a final 14 by the end of May, 2017

For all youngsters, continue to play cricket and work hard on your game, there are plenty of opportunities ahead for both genders in the cricket pathway in the coming season ‘said Cricket Kenya chairperson Jackie Janmohamed’.

This is all in preparation of the ICC Africa under-19 qualifiers division 1, scheduled for 1st to 10th July, in Nairobi.
