The National ladies championships to bowl off this weekend in Nairobi

Cricket Kenya will hold the annual national ladies championship tournament from 23rd April to 7th May 2017 at Starehe Boys Centre in Nairobi. 
The championship tournament will features four teams, namely; - Chania Sharks, Nairobi Eves, Rift Hawks and Rift Flamingos. The 20-over competition will see the teams play each other once in a round-robin format to determine the champions for 2017.
Defending champions Flamingos who are without their influential captain Daisy Wairimu – who is still recovering from a road accident earlier this year, will open their campaign against Sharks, before taking on Eves in their second encounter on 30th April, they conclude their fixtures against the Hawks on 7th May.
This will be the culmination of the Nairobi and Nakuru ladies leagues that featured junior players from schools within the two counties. This event forms part of the drive to accord women cricketers more playing opportunities within the cricket calendar.
