Kenya recorded their second win on the tour of India by beating Baroda Cricket Association XI by a solitary run at the Reliance Cricket Stadium in Vadodara.

Dhiren Gondaria starred with the bat thumping 118 off 109 balls which included 8 boundaries and 7 maximums to set up Kenya’s 250 runs. He shared a third-wicket partnership of 121 runs with Collins Obuya (40) before the latter was caught off the bowling of Gurjit Saini by Bhargav Patel.

Gondaria was further involved in a fourth wicket stand of 18 runs with Rakep Patel (4) before he picked the waiting hands of Abhijit Karambelkar off the bowling of Saini who finished with figures of four for 41.

Baroda XI’s chase began slowly with pacemen Nehemiah Odhiambo and Elijah Otieno restricting the flow of runs earlier on, the former picking two at the beginning before finishing with the last wicket for a return of 3 for 58. Shem Ngoche chipped in with 2 for 41 to further put a dent on a Baroda win.

Baroda’s Dhiren Mistry’s (93) and Arpit Bhatware (49) had threatened earlier on before Odhiambo accounted for both batsmen and added Saini to seal the win in the 50th over.

Kenya play their last match of the tour against Baroda’s senior team on Wednesday 8th March at the same venue.
