Secondary School Combine ( Boys) and Ndeera Primary School ( Girls) won inaugural Muranga Mini Cricket tournament.

The first Muranga Mini Cricket tournament was played on Saturday 6th August 2016 at Kariguini Primary School in Muranga County.

10 Boys teams and 10 girls teams, namely Ndeera  Primary School, College Primary School, Kabati Central Primary School, Saba Saba Primary School ,Mihango Primary School, Makuyu Primary School, Maganjo Primary School, Kagaa Primary School, Secondary Combined  Team and Hosts Kariguini primary School participated in the tournament.

Under the Wintery conditions , the 268 students were DETERMINED to play this eagerly awaited tournament with the coaches working very hard to make sure that the students DID NOT go home disappointed.

The tournament was played on a round robin format with the top 4 teams qualifying for the
semifinals .

With THE weather threatening to play spoil sport , the coaches made sure the tournament WAS COMPLETED before the bad weather STOPPED play.

BOYS CATEGORY:
In the Boys Semi finals , College Primary School beat Ndera Primary School by 25 runs whilst Secondary Combined defeated Kariguini Primary School by 4 wickets.
In the finals College Primary won the toss  and put Secondary Combined into bat , who accumulated 40 runs.
College Primary started the chase slowly and in the end saw their effort fall short by 7 runs.

BEST BOWLER BOYS: ISAAK KUNGU
BEST PLAYER: JAMES NJOMOKU.


GIRLS CATEGORY:
In the girls Category Ndeera Primary School beat Kabati Primary in the first Semi final whilst College Primary School Girls team defeated Schools combined girls team in the other Semifinal.
In the Girls finals Ndeera won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 39 in their 6 Overs.
College primary School started the chase scoring briskly scoring 25 in the first 2overs.
Irene Wambui,bowling the third over put on the brakes by giving away 1run and picking up 3wickets. In the end College primary girls team fell short of the total and lost the match by 4 runs.
