Nairobi A and Nakuru register opening wins in U17 show

Nairobi A and Nakuru started the Cricket Kenya U-17 National Championships with victories over Nairobi B and Mombasa on day one of the four day event.
Nairobi A defeated their counterparts Nairobi B by 24 runs while Nakuru humiliated Mombasa by 47 runs.
In the match played at Ruaraka, Shawal Khana half ton and three wickets each from Snehal Gajparia and Brian Isaiya guided Nairobi A to victory. Batting first, Nairobi A posted a total of 170 runs in 38 of 40 allotted overs before bowleg out their opponents for 146 in 37 overs.
Nairobi A lost its first wicket of Aveet Desai with the seven runs on board and the second one of Rahul Seedhar with scores 44 before Khana and Sangram Trepathi (22) got the scores to 95. Khana was finally dismissed with when scores were on 113. Sachin Bhudia made 20.
Gautam Bhudia was the chief destroyer of Nairobi A with 5 for 34. Michael Nandwa and Paramveer Singh picked three and two wickets respectively.
Kavi Dosaja (34) and Ken Kimutai (23) were the top scorers for Nairobi B as Nairobi A bowlers proved to be hard. Dosaja and Kimutai put on a second wicket stand of 65 that got the scores to 86 after they had lost Carl Langjbenne for 11.
In another match played at Sir Ali, Mombasa won the toss and was restricted to 104 runs in 32.4 overs. Parth Patel was top scorer with 26 off 52 balls with Dheer Karia and Sajan Thakkar chipping in with 13 and 12 runs respectively.
Krupal Halai, Sohail Singh and Luv Manek grabbed two wickets each while Khilesh Hirani and Dev Hirani shared a wicket each.
James Butatila picked up four wickets for 19 runs as Mombasa was bowled out for 57 in 18.1 overs.
Parth and Sajan Thakkar picked two wickets each as Mombasa players looked unsure on what to do in the middle.
